The Ohio Forklift Rodeo pits skilled forklift operators against each other for the last time

COLUMBUS- The Ohio Safety Congress & Expo will not host a rodeo of grunting bulls and daring riders, but one of humming forklifts and dexterous drivers.

The Ohio Safety Congress & Expo will spotlight the final Ohio Forklift Rodeo Championship on Wednesday, March 30. From 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., teams from throughout Ohio will battle in driving skill, safety awareness and equipment knowledge. The top individual drivers will compete at 2 p.m. and individual team champions will be announced at 3:15 p.m.

“The Ohio Forklift Rodeo Championship is an exciting display of quick thinking people who have mastered forklift maneuvering,” said James Conrad, BWC Administrator and CEO. “As you watch the teams perform each course, it is clear that forklift driving is an art form and that safety is their top priority at all times.”

Rodeo attendees can also enjoy the inspirational words of Charlie Morecraft, former Exxon Corporation employee and workplace accident survivor. Morecraft will speak at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30.

After 75 years, and over 150,000 attendees, Safety Congress is the second largest occupational safety and health event in the nation. With more than 150 hours of educational sessions and 200 exhibitors, professionals are exposed to cutting edge workplace safety information.
