Group-rated workers' compensation plans allow employers who operate similar businesses to group together to potentially achieve lower premium rates than they could individually. While every employer's situation is unique, the average company saves more than 75% by enrolling in our group program.
Each group is sponsored by an organization, such as a trade association or chamber of commerce. Membership in the sponsoring organization is required by BWC rule. Upon application, a service company or third-party administrator (TPA) will conduct a thorough review of your historical claims costs. Qualifying companies receive a written offer to enroll in the group's most competitive group discount available.
Following the submission of each group rating roster of companies, the Ohio BWC verifies employer eligibility and determines the group's final discount percentage.
